If you're planning a trip to Disney World and are looking for something fun and unique to do, I highly recommend having dinner at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a two hour dinner show which can be found at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground in the Pioneer Hall building located within Settlement Depot. The great thing about Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue is, not only will you enjoy some delicious comfort food, you'll also be entertained while you eat! You'll start your meal with salad and cornbread served with butter. Fitting along perfectly with the theming, your food will be served in rustic looking metal containers, family style. If you like a particular item and want more, just ask! Beverages served are soft drinks, pomegranate lemonade, unsweetened iced tea, apple juice, milk, chocolate milk, hot tea, coffee, chardonnay, merlot, beer and sangria. Beverages mentioned as well as tips for your server are included in the price when you book. Once you've started eating, the show will soon begin. On the menu you'll find cowboy beans, corn, fried chicken, and ribs which will quickly start flowing in between the scenes. I will admit I was a bit worried my kids might be too young and perhaps bored and antsy. I quickly learned, this show is for ALL ages. Children, adults and older guests will all be entertained and laughing in no time. It's amazing how this show is performed 3 times a night and you would never know by the actors. They are top notch, talented and truly know how to get the audience involved all the while appearing as genuine as possible. I won't give too much away but I can assure you, you will be laughing, taping your feet and clapping your hands in no time. Prices vary depending on which category of seating you choose. Category 1 will offer seating on the main floor nearest to the stage. Category 2 will be located on first floor behind category 1 and in the center of the balcony. Category 3 seating will be on the sides of the balcony. Category 1 prices are currently $67.99/adult and $36.99/child (3-9 years). Category 2 prices are currently $64.99/adult and $33.99/child (3-9 years). Category 3 prices are currently $58.99/adult and $32.99/child (3-9 years). *Please note prices are subject to change without notice. The dining plan is accepted but it's important to note it takes 2 table service credits per person ages 3 and up and select categories and times are available. It is recommended to pick up your tickets in advance which if you are staying in a Disney resort, you can get from Guest Services one day prior. If you forget your tickets, you can also pick them up the same day as the show at the ticket window nearby but you'll need to arrive 40 minutes early. Since the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is located at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground it can be a little off the beaten path to get to. If you have a car on property, you can drive to the campground but you'll need to park in the parking lot near the campground entrance and then take an internal bus to Settlement Depot. You can also take a bus from any park or a boat to Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground from the Magic Kingdom. If taking a boat, you'll dock near Settlement Depot so no need to take an internal bus should you choose that route. Reservations for Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue do book quickly so it is recommended to book in advance. Advanced dining reservations can be made starting at 180 days prior to arrival. Are you interested in getting some of the club level perks without paying the steep price? I have a little known secret I'll fill you in on. Coconino Cove. You can find this lounge at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort which is the only moderate resort to offer this option. Now, before you get too excited I will tell you this is NOT club level like they have at the deluxe resorts but it does have some nice benefits at a fraction of the cost. When you are booking, the only way to get access to Coconino Cove is by booking a Business Class room. A Business Class room is considered an upgrade from a Standard room. It's the same price as a Preferred room which are rooms located more conveniently to the main building amenities. Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is VERY spread out so having a Business Class or Preferred room makes it easier to get to the restaurants and lobby. Coconino Cove is in a hidden, unassuming spot located in Cabanas 9B. There is a small sign stating the hours which are 7AM-10AM and 5PM-10PM. For breakfast, you'll find a continental breakfast consisting of fruit, pastries, muffins, yogurt, cereal. There is milk and juice available as well as coffee and tea service. Like many of the deluxe club level lounges, there are flavored syrups available as well as an espresso machine. In the evenings, you'll find very light snacks so I wouldn't recommend arriving hungry. This is where things differ pretty substantially to a deluxe club level. Deluxe resorts offer more of a variety, complete with hot offerings. Coconino Cove had chips, pretzels and yogurt raisins. For the evening beverage service there is red wine, white wine, sangria and beer available upon request. If you are interested in staying at Coconino Cove, we'd love to assist. You can contact us at info@yellowshoetravel. We'll be glad to help!
If you are planning a vacation to Disney World this September or October, don't miss out on a fun special event that's entertaining for the whole family! The event, known as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party starts at 7PM and goes until midnight on select evenings. If you purchase a ticket to the event, you will be allowed to enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4PM. You may choose to get a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket in lieu of a regular ticket since it is less expensive than a one day Magic Kingdom ticket and your family can take it easy and rest up before attending. If you choose to get a park ticket and a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket, you can go to the park of your choice and then enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4PM. I do recommend resting beforehand if you have young children in tow as they may tire easily and miss much of the party. Many guests choose to dress up in their Halloween costumes. It's fun to get into the action as well as do some great people watching! TIP: Always be sure to allow time in the day if you are going to a park to get ready for the party. You don't want to be rushed. I recommend not having a table service meal and instead just eat a quick service meal at your resort or in Magic Kingdom before the event starts so you won't be pressed for time. You won't want to miss out on the events! Tickets are limited and it is possible for the event to sell out, particularly if you are going on Halloween or a date around 10/31 so be sure to order in advance. Some dates offer a slight discount if you order in advance. You'll find the following at the event:
It is VERY important to note dates of the event even if you are NOT attending as you will want to avoid Magic Kingdom since park hours will be shortened and the park will close at 7PM unless you have a ticket. Regular evening parade and fireworks will not be shown. |
