If you're planning a trip to Disney World and are looking for something fun and unique to do, I highly recommend having dinner at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a two hour dinner show which can be found at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground in the Pioneer Hall building located within Settlement Depot. The great thing about Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue is, not only will you enjoy some delicious comfort food, you'll also be entertained while you eat! You'll start your meal with salad and cornbread served with butter. Fitting along perfectly with the theming, your food will be served in rustic looking metal containers, family style. If you like a particular item and want more, just ask! Beverages served are soft drinks, pomegranate lemonade, unsweetened iced tea, apple juice, milk, chocolate milk, hot tea, coffee, chardonnay, merlot, beer and sangria. Beverages mentioned as well as tips for your server are included in the price when you book. Once you've started eating, the show will soon begin. On the menu you'll find cowboy beans, corn, fried chicken, and ribs which will quickly start flowing in between the scenes. I will admit I was a bit worried my kids might be too young and perhaps bored and antsy. I quickly learned, this show is for ALL ages. Children, adults and older guests will all be entertained and laughing in no time. It's amazing how this show is performed 3 times a night and you would never know by the actors. They are top notch, talented and truly know how to get the audience involved all the while appearing as genuine as possible. I won't give too much away but I can assure you, you will be laughing, taping your feet and clapping your hands in no time. Prices vary depending on which category of seating you choose. Category 1 will offer seating on the main floor nearest to the stage. Category 2 will be located on first floor behind category 1 and in the center of the balcony. Category 3 seating will be on the sides of the balcony. Category 1 prices are currently $67.99/adult and $36.99/child (3-9 years). Category 2 prices are currently $64.99/adult and $33.99/child (3-9 years). Category 3 prices are currently $58.99/adult and $32.99/child (3-9 years). *Please note prices are subject to change without notice. The dining plan is accepted but it's important to note it takes 2 table service credits per person ages 3 and up and select categories and times are available. It is recommended to pick up your tickets in advance which if you are staying in a Disney resort, you can get from Guest Services one day prior. If you forget your tickets, you can also pick them up the same day as the show at the ticket window nearby but you'll need to arrive 40 minutes early. Since the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is located at Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground it can be a little off the beaten path to get to. If you have a car on property, you can drive to the campground but you'll need to park in the parking lot near the campground entrance and then take an internal bus to Settlement Depot. You can also take a bus from any park or a boat to Disney's Ft. Wilderness Campground from the Magic Kingdom. If taking a boat, you'll dock near Settlement Depot so no need to take an internal bus should you choose that route. Reservations for Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue do book quickly so it is recommended to book in advance. Advanced dining reservations can be made starting at 180 days prior to arrival. It's often a misconception that Disney Cruise Line is all about the kids. While it's true that there is a lot for children to do onboard, there's also a lot for adults to enjoy on the ship as well. Whether you're looking for a family vacation or an adults only getaway, Disney Cruise Line has you covered. Here are some top reasons why adults should consider sailing Disney Cruise Line. Service: When you sail Disney Cruise Line, you get amazing service, pure and simple. The ships are top notch, sophisticated and upscale. No matter what role they have, more than likely you're going to be greeted with a welcoming smile throughout the ship from Disney Cruise Line Cast Members. There's always someone happy to provide assistance. You get nightly turndown service including chocolates on the bed and even 24 hour room service. It's pretty easy to get used to and often hard to go back to reality once you've experienced it. Adults only Restaurants: The rotational restaurants are great but if you have the opportunity to dine at the adults only Remy or Palo, do! Yes, they are an extra cost but it is well worth it! Palo is $25/adult for dinner or brunch while Remy is $75/adult for dinner and $50/adult for champagne brunch. Palo is a 5 course Italian meal for dinner which you can find on all four Disney Cruise Line ships. Remy offers a 10 course dinner featuring French cuisine and can only be found on the two newest ships, Dream and Fantasy. Enjoy a nice date night out. You deserve it! Senses Spa and Fitness Center: Whether you're looking for a massage, facial, pedicure, body wrap, couples massage, hairstyling or aromatherapy, Senses Spa has you covered. Want to enjoy the spa but don't want to pay the price? Purchase a Rainforest Day Pass for a minimal price (under $20/day) and get access to sauna, heated tile loungers, hot tub and aroma scented showers (offerings vary depending on ship). Quiet Cove Pool: When you want to get a way from the kids and relax in the sun, perhaps go for a dip in the adults only pool. There is a bar nearby if you're looking for a bite to eat or beverage. Be sure to check the Navigator as well as there may be games and activities including live music. You may even be able to book a poolside massage if you'd like! Nightclubs and lounges: The nightclubs and lounges vary depending on the ship but one thing's for sure, they are all entertaining and a great way to escape and have a little bit of fun. You are on vacation after all! Whether you're in the mood to do a little dancing, have a cocktail, watch a sporting event in a Irish themed pub or visit a piano bar, Disney Cruise Line has you covered. Port Adventures: It's easy to get excited about being on a Disney Cruise Line ship with all of its offerings but don't forget there is lots of adventure when you visit the various ports! You can choose from Active Adventures, Sightseeing Adventures, Nature Adventures and Splashtacular Adventures. There is something for everyone! Whether you'd like to go horseback riding, visit ruins, zip lining, shopping, golfing, fishing, scuba diving, go on an ATV excursion, take a nature walk or just get your toes in the sand, you'll find Disney Cruise Line has you covered. Each port adventure is carefully selected by Disney Cruise Line so odds are, you're going to get a great experience. Think of all the memories you'll make! Serenity Bay: If your sailing goes to Disney's private island, Castaway Cay which is located in the Bahamas, consider yourself lucky. Not only is it a great place to relax and enjoy the beach but it also features an adults only area called Serenity Bay. You'll find a restaurant that serves a BBQ buffet (exactly the same as the one on the family beach), a bar, private cabanas and pure bliss and peace. Get a lounge chair (or hammock), enjoy listening to the sound of the waves and do absolutely nothing. If you're looking to sail Disney Cruise Line, we'd love to help! Contact us at [email protected]. We'll be glad to assist!
Are you interested in getting some of the club level perks without paying the steep price? I have a little known secret I'll fill you in on. Coconino Cove. You can find this lounge at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort which is the only moderate resort to offer this option. Now, before you get too excited I will tell you this is NOT club level like they have at the deluxe resorts but it does have some nice benefits at a fraction of the cost. When you are booking, the only way to get access to Coconino Cove is by booking a Business Class room. A Business Class room is considered an upgrade from a Standard room. It's the same price as a Preferred room which are rooms located more conveniently to the main building amenities. Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is VERY spread out so having a Business Class or Preferred room makes it easier to get to the restaurants and lobby. Coconino Cove is in a hidden, unassuming spot located in Cabanas 9B. There is a small sign stating the hours which are 7AM-10AM and 5PM-10PM. For breakfast, you'll find a continental breakfast consisting of fruit, pastries, muffins, yogurt, cereal. There is milk and juice available as well as coffee and tea service. Like many of the deluxe club level lounges, there are flavored syrups available as well as an espresso machine. In the evenings, you'll find very light snacks so I wouldn't recommend arriving hungry. This is where things differ pretty substantially to a deluxe club level. Deluxe resorts offer more of a variety, complete with hot offerings. Coconino Cove had chips, pretzels and yogurt raisins. For the evening beverage service there is red wine, white wine, sangria and beer available upon request. If you are interested in staying at Coconino Cove, we'd love to assist. You can contact us at info@yellowshoetravel. We'll be glad to help!
Whether you are a Disney first timer, haven't visited since childhood, or visit the Disney parks annually, you should consider using a travel agency to book. Of course we are a bit biased but here are the top 5 reasons why we think you should use Yellow Shoe Travel for your Disney needs:
SPECIALISTS: Many travel agencies specialize in a particular destination which is something you should think about when booking your next vacation. Whether it's a specialty cruise, European vacation, all inclusive adults only vacation or a safari trip to Africa, do your research and find someone who is knowledgable in that particular place. Yellow Shoe Travel specializes in Disney destinations. We are experts when it comes to all things Disney. We have been to Disney World more times than we can count (multiple trips a year). We have sailed with Disney Cruise Line and we have visited Disneyland. We are always doing research to stay up to date with the consistently changing policies of Disney which is a job in and of itself. We have graduated from Disney's College of Knowledge. Since we travel often to the parks, we can speak from first hand experience when offering advice on where to stay, where to eat and so much more. HONEST: We are down to earth, friendly and honest agents who love to chat Disney. It's not our job to up sell. We will make recommendations based off YOUR family's particular needs. Simply put, we want to make sure you are happy. We will not solicit business. We will keep your payment details as secure as possible and will not put a payment through without your permission. TIPS: You will get the same exact perks as you would normally but in addition to that, you also get a packet full of tips, must do's, park maps, recommendations and more. DISCOUNT MONITORING: We provide discount monitoring and are always up to date on Disney's latest promotions and offers. We will always do our best to make sure you are getting the best price available. If you book early and a discount becomes available later and it's applicable to your reservation, we'll get it switched for you. FREE: Our service is completely free for you to use. There are no hidden costs or service fees. If you are considering a vacation to a Disney destination, feel free to email us at [email protected]. We will be glad to assist! We look forward to chatting Disney with you soon. If you are planning a vacation to Disney World this September or October, don't miss out on a fun special event that's entertaining for the whole family! The event, known as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party starts at 7PM and goes until midnight on select evenings. If you purchase a ticket to the event, you will be allowed to enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4PM. You may choose to get a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket in lieu of a regular ticket since it is less expensive than a one day Magic Kingdom ticket and your family can take it easy and rest up before attending. If you choose to get a park ticket and a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket, you can go to the park of your choice and then enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4PM. I do recommend resting beforehand if you have young children in tow as they may tire easily and miss much of the party. Many guests choose to dress up in their Halloween costumes. It's fun to get into the action as well as do some great people watching! TIP: Always be sure to allow time in the day if you are going to a park to get ready for the party. You don't want to be rushed. I recommend not having a table service meal and instead just eat a quick service meal at your resort or in Magic Kingdom before the event starts so you won't be pressed for time. You won't want to miss out on the events! Tickets are limited and it is possible for the event to sell out, particularly if you are going on Halloween or a date around 10/31 so be sure to order in advance. Some dates offer a slight discount if you order in advance. You'll find the following at the event:
It is VERY important to note dates of the event even if you are NOT attending as you will want to avoid Magic Kingdom since park hours will be shortened and the park will close at 7PM unless you have a ticket. Regular evening parade and fireworks will not be shown. If you're thinking of sailing Disney Cruise Line I have two words for you. Palo and Remy. You can find these adult only restaurants on the Disney Cruise Line ships. Remy can only be found on the Dream and Fantasy but Palo is on all four ships. If you are sailing for 4 nights or longer, champagne brunch is available at Palo on days at sea only. Grab a reservation early because they are limited and book quickly! Upon arrival you'll note the elegant Italian decor and floor to ceiling windows which offer a lovely view of the ocean. You'll be served a complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa upon arrival and then given a tour of the fabulous buffet style offerings. Our server was fantastic and went into detail of what was on the menu, pointing at each offering and giving us a description. Can you say mouth watering? There truly is something for everyone! The only problem you'll have is figuring out what to try first! Food is served at different stations where you'll find an assortment of tapas sized portions. Don't let the small portions fool you. Take your time trying a variety of foods and you'll quickly be stuffed. Be sure to save room for dessert! They are absolutely fabulous! You will find an assortment of sweet treats such as Tiramasu, Panna Cotta, Tartlets, Profiteroles and Chocolate Creme de Pot. On the menu you may find seafood offerings such as Alaska King Crab Legs (already cut for you how awesome is that?), Smoked Trout Mousse, Scallops, Cavier, Grilled Shrimp and Seared Tuna. Not a seafood fan? There is also a wide assortment of vegetables, breads, pastries, cheese and fruits. You can even order items a la carte such as Gourmet Pizzas, (Gorgonzola and Grape pizza anyone?), a variety of Eggs, Pancakes and Oysters Rockefeller!
I’m excited to announce that I am taking a leap of faith and have started my own travel agency, Yellow Shoe Travel. I will continue to specialize in Disney destinations as I have for nearly four years. I look forward to assisting others with their vacations to Disney World, Disney Cruise Line and Disneyland. I can also book Aulani and Adventures by Disney as well. You’ll still get the same service as you have previously when booking with me. This was not an easy decision for me. I spent months pondering on which direction I wanted to go. I have nothing but great things to say about the agency I was with prior. I can’t thank the owner enough for working with me as I made this transition and for providing the amazing opportunities I’ve been given since I started selling travel in 2010. Without her, I would not be where I am today. I just felt this was the right thing to do for me and for my family considering all the hours I put into my job. I truly cannot thank my clients enough who have supported my business and have been the best form of advertising for me. I am always flattered when I get a referral from a client and consider it an honor. I hope you will continue to support me and tell others about my service. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or give me a call at 404-918-9557. I look forward to working with you! Sincerely, Corby |
